Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) is a trauma-responsive model of care developed by Dr. Greene, outlined in his various published works such as The Explosive Child, Lost at School, Lost & Found, and Raising Human Beings. The CPS approach is rooted in empirical evidence, emphasizing that challenging behaviors arise when a child's capabilities are exceeded by the expectations placed upon them. The focus of CPS is on identifying skill deficits and unmet expectations, referred to as unsolved problems. Rather than targeting behaviors, the model aims to collaboratively address these issues between children and caregivers.

Unlike traditional interventions, CPS adopts a collaborative and proactive problem-solving method, fostering a cooperative relationship between adults and children. By engaging children in resolving the challenges they face, the model promotes non-punitive and non-adversarial approaches, reducing conflicts, enhancing relationships, and improving communication.

The Lens Changer App serves as a practical tool for individuals such as parents, teachers, and clinical providers seeking to understand and implement the CPS model. The app offers support for conducting Assessments of Lagging Skills and Unsolved Problems (ALSUP), tracking ongoing issues, guiding users through the three-step CPS approach (Plan B), and providing relevant resources to aid in the process.
